Did You Know?

Over the course of this blogging assignmnet as I come across thing about HIV awareness I will be posting it here in my Did You know Column..



1) Did You Know that every one in five gay men are HIV postive and don't know it. Now they are carriers of this disease. This issue is not only taking place in the United States but the statistics as of 09/04/2009 show that in Austrailia one in five gay men are HIV positive. This is quite disturbing because more and more people are going around unaware that they have HIV.

    So HIV awareness in general is your research topic for the semester? You plan on giving us tidbits of information to expand our knowledge throughout the semester, I assume?

    Wow! It is crazy how many people continue to go on with there lives unaware of the fact that they are living with HIV/AIDS. Hopefully, we will begin to see the slow change towards HIV/AIDS awareness.

    I can't believe that the number is so high for people with HIV. More surprising is the fact that they are unaware of it. This is one of the reasons why I think it is so important for people to get tested. Even if your tests come back negative you can at least have peace of mind.
