Blog # 2..

This week in class I thought time was going by rather fast. I was reading this awesome book entitled "The Naked Truth", for our assignment 3. I was getting a deeper insight into how it is to be young and living with HIV. I can't imagine how it would be but the main character in this book has so much courage. I also got a chance to work on my module for this week coming. Even though the class is tough to work through on top of every other class im taking I still find myself reading up on HIV and different topics where HIV plays a big rule. I've noticed that this class is inspiring me on my quest to becoming a doctor.

I also researched an organization having to do with HIV/AIDS. I choose the Global Aids Alliance. This organization's goals are to protect the children of the world, provide a free basic education to children living with the disease, treat the people, and fight for a cure. They mostly help the children in Africa, but they are a worldwide organization. I found that this orgaization is trying to promote awareness and get people tested. They also try to get women who are infected with AIDS to enroll in programs before they give birth. This organization is awesome and really there
to help patients.

Here is the link for the organization:http://www.globalaidsalliance.org/

  1. Sasha, please put your Did You Know into your weekly blog. Don't make it a separate blog because then people are forced to make comments to two blogs each week instead of one.

    Are women infected with AIDS?

We have a program here called HUGMe that helps HIV infected women to get antiretroviral therapy so that the transmission to their child is reduced. Many of these women then have HIV negative children.
